Canon Launch LV-7575 HD Projector

Canon has launched their latest HD projector with an output of 5500 lumens of brightness and a 800:1 contrast ratio and can produce an image of 400 inches diagonal!

The Canon LV 7575 HD projector comes with four optional lenses: ultra-short, short-focus zoom, long-focus and very-long-focus zoom.

Canon’s brightest
Benefitting from an improved optical layout and a new high-power 318 watt UHP lamp, the LV-7575 offers 5500 lumens – without the need for the “Turbo Bright” system of its predecessor. Colour fidelity therefore remains uncompromised, even at full brightness.

The power of the new projector makes it suitable for large screens in professional venues, delivering images up to 400” diagonal. Presentations remain clear and bright, even in well-lit environments.

Maximum flexibilityA new lighter and more compact 1.3x zoom lens is supplied as standard. It can be exchanged with any of the four optional lenses, depending on the requirements of the venue. Users can choose between ultra-short-focus (for rear projection), short-focus zoom, long-focus zoom and very-long-focus zoom (ideal for theatres and auditoriums).

The powered lens shift allows the lens to be raised or lowered as needed – avoiding the need to tilt the device and the subsequent quality loss associated with keystone correction.

For theatrical and special effects, the LV-7575 can be operated vertically for projection onto floors and ceilings, without any risk of damage to the lamp or internal components.

Advanced connectivityDesigned to meet the demanding requirements of AV professionals, the LV-7575 offers seamless compatibility with virtually every possible video source. High Definition sources (720p / 1080i / 1080PsF formats) are reproduced with exceptional quality. The projector’s DVI-D port provides connectivity with digital sources and is HDCP compliant, for correct display of encrypted content.

The 5 x BNC terminals ensure extra reliability with long cable connections, particularly useful when the projector is mounted on a ceiling. For connection to an external monitor – ideal for presenters – an RGB output terminal is included. Component Video and S-Video inputs are also available, while SCART connectivity can be accommodated via an optional adaptor cable.

Barco FLM HD18

Barco has unveiled three new HD projectors for rental and staging applications. The FLM HD18 (Winner of the Sound & Vision Contractor Award for outstanding technology) and FLM HD14 answer the need for high brightness native HD projection in large venues, whereas the XLM HD30 is ideally suited for projecting HD images in ultra-wide-screen applications.

Realizing the variety of applications for widescreen HD projection, Barco had added two new members to its FLM family of compact, 3-chip DLP projectors, the FLM HD18 and FLM HD14. The FLM HD18 delivers native HD (1920 x 1080) at 18,000 centre lumens brightness output in a compact and lightweight chassis. The FLM HD18 boosts fully sealed optics and impressive lamp maintenance ensuring an overall lower cost of ownership, say the company.

The FLM HD14 with its 14,000 centre lumens brightness output, is optimized for wide screen applications which demand - not only high brightness - but also extremely low noise and an ultra long lamp lifetime.

The lens range (TLD HB), of the Barco RLM and SLM projector series, can be re-used on the FLM series, which means investment in new lenses is not necessarily compulsory. Furthermore, Barco say that both the FLM HD18 and FLM HD14 have exceptional video performance thanks to advanced 10 bit processing. Their brightness, compactness and near silent operation make them suitable for a wide variety of applications, say Barco.

The third HD projector to be added is Barco's XLM HD30 which is ideally suited to ultra wide-screen and HD projections. Boasting a light output of 30,000 centre lumens, the XLM HD30 is the new standard for high brightness projection on the market today, say Barco. Delivering native 2048 x 1080 resolution (DC2K) and featuring a fully sealed DMD engine, the XLM HD30 is designed for use in the demanding rental and staging and large events markets. The XLM HD30 supersedes the HD25 version.

LG’s First Wall Mounted HD Projector

LG have release the first ever HD-Ready wall-mounted projector.

The LG AN110 looks to be aimed at the home cinema market and ovvers 1280 x 768 native resolution with compressed 1080 signals. However, some have commented that the LG AN110 falls short of true HD compliant.

The picture ratio is 2500:1 and has two brightness modes: 1000 ANSI Lumens and 7000 ANSI Lumens.

The LG AN110 also falls short of true home cinema quality when it comes to sound quality.

There's a choice of HDMI, Analogue VGA and Composite Video.

You also get a leg stand if you don't want to fix it to your wall.

Panasonic develops 1080p 3-chip DLP™-based projector

LAS VEGAS -- Panasonic announced the development of a full-resolution 1080p projector for cinema applications that is planned to be delivered by the fourth quarter of this year.
The widescreen new projector features a new Texas Instruments 3-chip DLP™ imager that produces 10,000 lumens of brightness and full 1920x1080 resolution. The projector delivers a theater-quality 4000:1 contrast ratio with Panasonic's exclusive Dynamic Iris, which switches the aperture according to the input signal. Panasonic's Dynamic Iris technology quickly fine tunes the lamp output with exceptional speed, resulting in highly accurate real-time control of the projector light output.

Mr. Katsuaki Shimaoka, Director of Panasonic Projector Business unit, said, "We have the experience of supplying more than 1,200 DLP projectors to cinema theaters all over the world. Providing this full resolution HD projector will strengthen our 3-Chip DLP lineup and accelerate the change from analog to digital prints in the cinema industry, as well as accelerate the production of digital films."

The new projector is equipped with improved dust-proof, sealed, liquid-cooled optics and a new rugged yet small and compact chassis. It also features improved color processing with a 10-bit scaling engine and a powerful 3-D color management system. To assure continuous operation even if one lamp burns out, the new projector offers the security of Panasonic's BriteOptic™ multilamp system. This advanced system utilizes high-power, cost-saving UHP lamps and a high-precision prism.

Standard features on the new projector include a horizontal/vertical lens shift, a DVI input with HDCP, and LAN control with standard PJ link protocol, thereby enabling network administrators to centrally monitor the projector via LAN-based remote control over a web browser. Options will include SD-SDI and HD-SDI input boards.

InFocus IN76 Review

InFocus debuted the new IN76 HD Projector at the CES show in January and has made a splash ever since.

So what are the details? Well its a native 1280 x 720 DLP projector with a Texas Instruments DarkChip engine.

It has a six-segmant colour wheel which combats the "rainbow effect" that some DLP projectors suffer from.

Also, it has a 12 element all-glass 1.3: 1 zoom lens. The video processing is handled y Pixelworks' DNX technology.

The maximum brightness is 1000 ANSI Lumens and has a contrast ration of 3000:1.

InFocus were determined to bring a HD projector to the market that was full of features but at a reasonable cost. They've certainly done it with the InFocus IN76.

They've also created a damn sexy HD projector. Many of the HD projectors created these days are a boring grey box that reminds me of a sectretary in an A-line skirt counting paper-clips - not the IN76 - its more of a super-sassy administrator that teases you by showing a bit more leg than you were expecting.

Panasonic Launches Portable HD Projector

Mitsubishi Intriduces affordable HD Projector HD4000U

Feburary 1st saw Mitsubishi launch the HD4000U which is their first wide-screen, high definition and high brightness projector designed for wide format laptops and imaging applications. They aim for this HD projector to be the lowest-priced widescreen projector targeted at the professional market.

The HD projector incorporates the Texas instruments' DDP3020 Digital Light Processing ® TrueVision™ image processing with BrilliantColor™ which they say gives 50%+ increase in mid-tone image quality.

The HD4000U also has a 2500:1 contrast ratio and weighs just 6.4lbs so its also could be considered portable.

JVC Unveils New Home Thatre HD Projector

JVC have announced the introduction of a new HD Projector - DLA-HD10K in their mission to offer the highest quality home theatre projectors for the main HD projector markets.

The DLA-HD10K is their flagship product and features their proprietary 4-chip Direct Drive Image Light Amplifier (D-ILAT) teechnology which is an advanced form of Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS).

1920 x 1080 resultion is avaliable with the DLA-HD10K and utilises 'non-moving' reflective technology which produces smooth high resolution images.

The DLA-HD10K is avaliable in two modesl to accommodate the wide variety of theatre sizes. A long thrwo with a lens throw distances of 2-3.8:1, which allows the projector to be placed at the back of a theatre. With a ten foot screen the projector could be placed from 20 to 38 feet from the screen. The short throw models has a lens throw distance of 1.5 - 1.0:1 which allows it to be used for CRT replacement or even for rear-screen applications.

It's optical engine engine design delivers a 2500:1 hich contrast and the user-replaceable lamp lasts 2000 hours and should cost arouand £300.
